Career Notes
Wynands Book Cover

Kathleen Wynands ’82 has written a book, Glass Half Full: My Resilient Life with Cerebral Palsy. Wynands was born with cerebral palsy and has lived with its effects on her entire life. Despite this challenging affliction, she did not let it define her. In her book, she shares an honest, heartfelt, and often humorous personal narrative detailing her journey of adversity and the challenges living with a disability. Wynands worked as a teacher in special education for more than two decades. She sought to inspire her students to go for their dreams and not to be held back by their disabilities.

Marc Steckel ’93 has joined SEDA Experts LLC as Managing Director, bringing over 32 years of elite regulatory experience to the firm. Steckel’s distinguished career includes 27 years at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where he served as Deputy Director and led critical initiatives regarding Dodd-Frank Act implementation and large-bank resolution functions. Most recently, he served as Associate Director at the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), overseeing conservatorship oversight and readiness for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) holding an Executive Certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School, Steckel serves as Chair of the Audit Committee for the Bloomsburg University Foundation Board and is Chair of the Risk Committee at Bank CMG.

Christopher Thompson ’02 was named the 28th head football coach at Lebanon Valley College (LVC) after serving as interim coach since February, 2025. A Manheim Central graduate, Thompson brings over two decades of coaching experience to the helm, including stints in the NFL, XFL, and Arena Football League, as well as a coaching internship with the Chicago Bears.
Thompson played for the Huskies under coach Jim Monos, who later hired Thompson as an assistant at LVC in 2021. In his first season leading the Dutchmen, Thompson guided the team to a 6–5 record and a Centennial MAC Bowl Series appearance. Under his leadership, LVC was the only team to defeat the conference champion and produced ten all-conference selections. He was inducted into the Manheim Central Hall of Fame in 2016.
