Clearfield

After careful analysis, Commonwealth University will cease operations at the Clearfield teaching location following the end of the 2026-27 academic year. Fall 2025 will be the final semester for students to begin programs at Clearfield. Students enrolled at Clearfield will be able to continue their programs as scheduled. All faculty and staff members will be offered the opportunity to continue their employment at the Lock Haven campus, following the conclusion of operations at Clearfield.

Clearfield helps students develop important skills like communication and critical thinking through classroom instruction and real-world practice in hospitals, prisons, and more. Popular areas of choice include criminal justice, nursing, social work, and technical leadership, as well as a physician assistant graduate program.

Clearfield’s Foundation Village includes 32 beds consisting of five 4-bedroom suites and six 2-bedroom suite-style apartments. These apartments offer comfortable accommodations designed to support a positive college living experience. The apartments are fully furnished with a living room, air conditioning, and high-speed internet. Kitchens include all appliances, including full-size washers and dryers in each apartment. Private bedrooms feature a full-size bed, desk, chair, dresser, and closet. There is one full-size bathroom for every two students.
