Program-Specific Deadlines

Accelerated (3+2) Physicians Assistant: Complete your application before November 1 with a SAT score of 1200+ or a composite score of 25 on the ACT submitted to the Admissions Office to be considered for an invitation to interview. (Lock Haven campus only)

Accelerated (3+3) Physical Therapy: Complete your application before November 1 for priority consideration. (Bloomsburg and Lock Haven campuses only)

Nursing (ASN): Complete your application before December 1 including a TEAS score of 65 or higher, algebra, biology, and chemistry to be considered. (Lock Haven and Clearfield campuses only)

Nursing (BSN): Complete your application before November 15 to be considered. (Bloomsburg and Mansfield campuses only) 

Music (BS/BM): Complete your application by December 15 for priority consideration. Note: all music majors are required to complete an audition. For more information, please contact the music department. (Bloomsburg and Mansfield campuses only)

To guarantee scholarship eligibility for Fall 2025, be sure to complete your application and submit your transcript by 12/15/24 and pay your deposit by 5/1/25. Scholarships will be awarded based on cumulative weighted GPA at the time of application.

How to Apply Scholarships

Commonwealth University will accept an unofficial copy of a student's transcript for review but we do require a final official copy be sent upon graduation. 

Electronic transcripts can be sent through an external service such as Parchment or mailed to the campus of your choice.

Test Scores should be sent directly from College Board or printed on the official transcript in order to be applied as college credit. 

At Commonwealth, we believe every student deserves access to quality education, regardless of their financial situation. We are pleased to announce that we accept free and reduced lunch waivers, College Board, as well as counselor recommendations for students applying to our academic programs.

Note: All students who attend a campus visit are also eligible for an application fee waiver.

Advanced Placement (AP) Exams: 
We value the hard work and dedication of students who take Advanced Placement (AP) courses. We encourage school counselors to submit AP exam scores of 3 or higher via CollegeBoard. 

AP Equivalencies 

College Level Exam Program (CLEP) Exams: 
Commonwealth University participates in the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) of the College Entrance Examination Board, which enables CU to grant course credit for scores earned on written examinations provided by CEEB/ETS.

Commonwealth University offers the opportunity to earn credit for your prior work, training, and life knowledge and apply it toward your associate's or bachelor’s degree.

Transfer Credit Equivalencies: 
The Pennsylvania Transfer and Articulation Center (PA TRAC) enables students to easily identify courses and degrees that transfer to the participating colleges and universities.

Commonwealth U Early College Program
Students enrolled in approved districts, may take up to 12 credits per semester (6 credits for the summer and winter sessions) to earn college credit while still enrolled in high school. Courses may be taken on campus, online, or through Commonwealth’s approved districts as concurrent enrollment in a secondary environment.

Dual Enrollment / Concurrent Enrollment: 
If your students are enrolled in college-level coursework elsewhere, we require a transcript be sent to our office from the institution through which the course is taken. All transcripts should be sent electronically to transcripts@commonwealthu.edu

Scholarship Opportuntities

Scholarships reduce the cost of attendance and allow you to focus on getting a great education. Students at Commonwealth University can take advantage of a variety of need-based and merit-based scholarships to help them achieve their academic goals. First-year students are required to apply and complete their application before December 15th to ensure priority consideration for a merit scholarship.

NCAA Sports

The Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield campuses of Commonwealth University maintain independent, varsity athletic departments competing primarily at the NCAA Division II level. Certain athletic programs at the Bloomsburg and Lock Haven campuses compete at the NCAA Division I level.
