Employers

Commonwealth University students are determined, hard-working, and ready to contribute to your organization! Consider the many ways alumni and community employers have partnered with us to move our students into professional roles.

Recruit Our Students

To recruit students from any of our locations, create a Handshake profile and connect with us to post internship & job opportunities, register for career expos, post your company's events, and correspond with CU students & alumni.

Prefer to come to campus and meet our students in person? Fill out the Interview and On-campus Recruiting Request form.

Have questions or need help? Email us at recruit@commonwealthu.edu or call 570-484-2181.

Mentor Our Students

Students can learn a great deal about professionalism or the day-to-day life in certain industries from the folks who live and work in those spaces. Providing a career experience like a Career Road Trip or an internship allows you to mentor a new workforce demographic while connecting with prospective hires and getting the word out about your company.

Join the list of employers who have hosted our students on Career Road Trips:

You can also host a student for a shadow or on-site observation, or connect with them via an informational interview.

Email Darwin Kysor at dkysor@commonwealthu.edu for more information and to be connected with the right faculty or staff member.

“PASSHE teachers are more well-rounded [and tend to] understand a more diverse demographic. I’ve always found success with students from Bloom and other PASSHE schools. I've had many friends and teacher colleagues who have gone to Lock Haven and Mansfield and they are all successful. They tend to understand more about the kids they will teach.”

“My experiences with them have been out of this world. They are curious, responsive, ask great questions, and want to connect with team members, and that is fantastic. Some of the most thoughtful follow-up messages I’ve ever received have come from B.U. students, and we take notice.”

"I've been to a lot of colleges, and I felt the most welcome at the three Commonwealth locations. It's nice that [Commonwealth] has a big Criminal Justice platform. [Students] already know they want to work in law enforcement. The more questions they have, the easier it is for me."

“Students are very well prepared, and we see them continually be top performers. When we talk with them at campus events, they are ambitious. They have lofty goals, and that matches our ‘promote from within’ mentality.”

“The idea that you need to have studied at a big-name school is evolving toward investing in partnerships that give us access to great students everywhere. There is a lot of power in getting to know people. About a third of our hires come from referrals.”
