Grow PA Funding Opportunities

Commonwealth University offers two Grow PA opportunities:

1. Grow PA Scholarship Grant - provides financial assistance to eligible Pennsylvania residents.
2. Grow PA Tuition Waiver - allows eligible out-of-state students to receive in-state tuition rates at Commonwealth University.

Both programs are available only for approved programs of study identified by PHEAA.

Grow PA Scholarship Grant

The Grow PA Scholarship Grant provides up to $5,000 per year for up to four academic years to eligible Pennsylvania residents pursuing approved programs of study at Commonwealth University.

To be considered for a Grow PA Scholarship Grant, students must meet the eligibility requirements established by PHEAA, which include:

• Be a resident of Pennsylvania.
• Having not yet earned a bachelor's degree.
• Be enrolled at least half-time in an approved program of study.
• File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• Meet applicable satisfactory academic progress requirements.
• Meet PHEAA's other eligibility requirements for the Grow PA Scholarship Grant including the signing of a Master Promissory Note (MPN) agreeing to repay all funds received if the work requirement is not met, including any potential interest accrued..

Students who receive the grant must agree to live and work in Pennsylvania in an approved occupation after graduation for the required period. Failure to meet the applicable requirements may result in the grant being converted to a loan that must be repaid.

Grow PA Tuition Waiver

The Grow PA Tuition Waiver allows eligible out-of-state students to receive in-state tuition rates when enrolled in an approved program of study at Commonwealth University.

To be considered for the Grow PA Tuition Waiver, students must meet the eligibility requirements established by PHEAA, which include:

• Be considered an out-of-state student for tuition purposes.
• Be enrolled in an approved program of study.
• Meet PHEAA's other eligibility requirements for the Grow PA Tuition Waiver including the signing of a Master Promissory Note (MPN) agreeing to repay all funds received if the work requirement is not met, including any potential interest accrued

Students who receive the tuition waiver must agree to meet the applicable Pennsylvania residency and employment requirements following graduation.
