The Student Success Centers on each campus are at the heart of a coordinated, campus-wide commitment to support all students, whether first-semester newcomers or graduating seniors, as they pursue a Commonwealth University degree.
We have designed our Student Success Centers to be the one-stop-shop for all of your student needs. If you don’t know what question to ask, or who to reach out to, come see our Student Success Staff and we will get you where you need to be.
The Success Centers seek to assist students in four major areas: academic success, social adjustment, financial literacy, and career exploration.

What is a Student Success Specialist?
- Available on all four campuses
- Highly educated, full-time professional staff
- Serve students in a variety of ways:
- Study skills, time management
- Communicating with faculty
- Advocating for student needs (working with Registrar on record issues, working with DoS on insecurity issues, working with Academic Affairs, working with TRIO SSS and ACT 101, etc.)
- Outreach to students based on concerns from faculty and staff, mid-terms, scheduling, etc.
- Offer workshops and programs to all students to increase Student Success (holistically, not just academically)
- Build relationships with students to provide them a comfortable connection point for any issues or struggles they may face

- Provide guidance and support through SAP and dismissal appeal processes
- Provide information about University Policies (ex: FERPA, SAP, probation and dismissal, etc.)
- Create Academic Improvement Plans for all students in PASS (students on academic probation)

SSC Services
The Student Success Center seeks to assist student in four major areas:

Student Mentoring
- Student Mentors are available for multiple SSC programs. Students can request a mentor to assist in the transition from high school to higher education. Students are welcome to request a mentor for the entire semester/academic year or to request a single meeting as needed.
Skill Development Workshops
- Available throughout the semester, the student success offices on all campus provide workshops to help students with study skills, time management, organization, and more.
Laptop Loans
- Students in need of a short- or long-term laptop loan to support their academic needs during the semester can visit the student success office on their campus. Laptop loans are available on a first come, first served basis and borrowers are asked to complete a liability waiver.

Students not in Good Academic Standing (below 2.0 GPA) are expected to participate in and complete the PASS (Partnership for Achieving Student Success) Program.
