Gregory Berger ’70 is an inductee into the 44th class of the American Football Association Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame. A standout athlete at Bloomsburg, Berger continued his football career with the Pottstown Firebirds and later the Norfolk Neptunes, two respected names from the Atlantic Coast Football League era.
Michael L. Boguski ’85 has been elected to the Medical Professional Mutual Insurance Company (Coverys) Board of Directors. Boguski brings nearly four decades of insurance industry and executive leadership experience, along with more than 25 years of board service. His expertise spans strategic and financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, capital management, underwriting operations, and corporate governance.
In addition to earning a Bachelor of Science in business management from Bloomsburg, Boguski completed the Executive Development & Leadership Program at the Wharton School of Business. He holds the CPCU designation and has been recognized as an Ernst & Young Central Eastern Pennsylvania Entrepreneur of the Year finalist. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Bloomsburg University Foundation Board.
Michael Rodgers ’86 has been named Chief Commercial and Technology Officer at FedEx Freight. Before joining Freight, Rodgers accrued more than 30 years of experience across customer strategy, revenue growth, digital products, data, technology, marketing, operations, and enterprise transformation during his time at Pilot Company, JCPenney Corporation, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Christoph Merkey ’95 was promoted to senior manager at Boyer & Ritter LLC accounting firm. Over his more than 20-year career, Merkey oversaw the financial operations for four area automotive dealerships.

Tyler DiRienzo ’14 and Colette DiRienzo, a son, Rocky Robert, born May 18, 2026. He joins his older brother Jack age 3.
