The music technology minor is intended for students outside the music unit that have a strong interest in learning about music and creating music.

The minor includes an introductory music fundamentals course, one semester of music history, four semesters of applied music lessons and music ensembles, and six credits of music electives by advisement. Students in this minor will gain hands-on experience working with music faculty and music students to build music knowledge and skills.

Music Minor Requirements

  • 18 credits required for minor completion
  • Students should meet with their academic advisor each semester and use Degree Works to monitor their individual progress toward completion of the minor.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Primary Instrument/Voice: Students will perform effectively and musically in their primary performance area.
  2. Ensembles: Students demonstrate effective musicianship and constructive ensemble collaboration within group performance settings.
