Thomas serves as a Management Technician for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE), providing comprehensive administrative, clerical, financial, and operational support to internal and external stakeholders across Commonwealth University.
Key responsibilities include managing OIE's multiple departmental budgets, including Institutional Effectiveness, Accreditation Enhancement Programs, Institutional Compliance, Institutional Research, Middle States Accreditation, etc. She oversees office financial operations by processing invoices (incl. accreditation annual membership dues and fees), coordinating purchases, reconciling purchase card transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records. She provides supervision and guidance to work-study students and graduate assistants, when applicable.
Thomas coordinates university-wide assessment and survey initiatives, including the First-Destination Survey, the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), and Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE); and occasionally assists faculty and staff with Qualtrics, supporting institutional assessment, strategic planning, and data-informed decision-making processes.
She also serves as a certified proctor for Commonwealth University's Testing Centers, supporting university assessment initiatives, placement testing programs, and external certification and licensure examinations while ensuring compliance with established testing protocols and standards.
In addition, Thomas supports accreditation and assessment activities by maintaining the university's programmatic accreditation database, including accreditation records for agencies such as ABET, ARC-PA, CAEP, and CCNE. She assists in the collection, organization, and tracking of academic Program Assessment Reviews (PARs) annual reports, Administrative, Educational, and Student Support (AES) unit annual reports, and comprehensive five-year academic and AES PARs. Additionally, she prepares and distributes the preliminary weekly enrollment and admissions report to support institutional planning and enrollment management efforts.
