Erik Evans serves as Vice President for Advancement at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania, where he leads fundraising, alumni and professional engagement, and advancement operations in support of student success and institutional priorities across the Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield campuses.
Since joining Bloomsburg University in 2009, Evans has led multiple highly successful comprehensive campaigns, including the It’s Personal Campaign, which raised more than $60 million for scholarships, academic programs, athletics, and facilities. He currently leads, in collaboration with his valued team and foundation boards, It Starts With Us, a $100 million comprehensive campaign focused on attracting students, elevating long-term impact, and preparing graduates for meaningful careers—having secured $95 million to date.
Known for his collaborative, donor-centered approach, Evans works closely with alumni, benefactors, foundation colleagues, and university leadership to align philanthropic interests with institutional priorities. His commitment to thoughtful stewardship ensures that donor intent is honored while creating lasting, transformational impact for students and the communities Commonwealth University serves.
Evans earned his bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from Lock Haven University and a master’s degree in Business Education from Bloomsburg University. Prior to his current role, he served in senior advancement leadership positions at Juniata College and Lock Haven University, and earlier in his career worked in private industry and secondary education.
A native of northern New Jersey, Evans and his wife, Cori, an alumna of Lock Haven University and Penn State (Ph.D.), reside in Pennsylvania and have four children. As a family, they enjoy travel, dining, and sports.
