Dr. Craig Ernst, DHSc, MPH, PA-C, is a dedicated professor and PA educator with over fifteen years of full-time teaching experience. He currently chairs the Department of Physician Associate Studies. In addition to having a clinical background as a cardiology PA, he also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ethiopia, where he taught English in the national school system. Dr. Ernst holds degrees in anthropology, health science, healthcare management, and public health.

Dr. Ernst’s research focuses on the cultural aspects of healthcare and the development of cultural competence and cultural humility in healthcare students. He is an avid traveler and has organized and led medical Spanish programs and immersion trips abroad, providing his students with global healthcare perspectives.

Outside work, Dr. Ernst enjoys roasting coffee, long-distance hiking, and spending time with his family. He lives in the Harrisburg/Hershey area with his wife and two children.
