Confer Media Academy
The Confer Media Academy is a four-day, hands-on media and leadership experience designed to help students turn their stories into skills, their skills into portfolios, and their portfolios into career opportunities.
Guided by the theme “From Story to Career: Every Great Career Begins with a Story,” students will learn from experienced media professionals while developing their voice, creating compelling content, connecting with audiences, and exploring careers across today’s rapidly changing media landscape.

Turn your skills and experiences into a professional portfolio, resume, demo reel, and final presentation while preparing for internships and careers.
Throughout the Academy, students will work on a real-world capstone project, receive coaching from industry professionals, build their professional networks, and gain practical experience they can take into college, internships, and future careers.
Every Day Starts with a Story
A leadership and reflection component connects all four sessions. Students will consider the story that shaped them, the story they are creating, the stories that can change communities, and the story they want to be remembered for.
The goal is to develop more than media skills. Confer Media Academy helps students discover who they are, understand why their voice matters, and learn how to use communication to inform, inspire, connect, and lead.
