Bloomsburg’s 7th Annual National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Excellence Awards: The Essence Experience celebrated impact, community, and artistry in a memorable spring evening to help close out a productive and eventful school year.

“It was an incredible success,” said Rhamel Grehm Jr., president of NAACP Bloomsburg Chapter. “It took a lot of time and behind-the-scenes effort to bring everything together from decorations, flow of the show, booking room, finding nominees etc. Seeing it all come together made it more than worth it.”

The annual event featured powerful performances by R.A.R.E., the BU Gospel Choir, and Mr. NAACP along with an elegant red-carpet atmosphere that honored achievement while highlighting talent, pride, and shared purpose.

“From the presence in the room to the way people showed up and supported one another, the night truly showcased the hard work that went into planning it,” Grehm said. “What makes this event so meaningful is the way it shines a light on the organizations within the Multicultural Center. It’s not just an awards ceremony but a night to celebrate dedication, leadership, and the impact these groups have had throughout the year.”
