At the March 6, 2026, Commonwealth University Board of Trustees meeting, the Trustees acted to name the center for the arts building on the Bloomsburg campus the Steph and Allie Pettit Center for the Arts, recognizing a transformative $6 million gift from Steph and Allie Pettit in support of the arts at Bloomsburg.

A significant portion of the gift will support technical and physical upgrades to the facility, enhancing opportunities for students and audiences who experience the arts on campus.

To continue honoring the Haas legacy, the gallery within the building shall be named the Francis B. Haas Gallery of Art.

“This generous commitment from Steph and Allie Pettit represents a transformative investment in the arts at Bloomsburg,” said Interim CU President Jeff Osgood. “Their support will help ensure that our students, faculty, and community continue to benefit from vibrant spaces that foster creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression.”

Steph Pettit said the gift reflects a belief in the power of the arts to enrich both students and the broader community.

“Allie and I believe strongly in the role the arts play in shaping culture, creativity, and opportunity,” said Steph Pettit. “We are honored to support the continued growth of the arts at Bloomsburg and to help ensure that students and the community have access to outstanding spaces and experiences.”
