Comparing College Costs for 2026-2027

Commonwealth University vs. Other Schools

Choosing a college is one of the most important financial decisions you’ll make. At Commonwealth University, we make that decision easier by offering some of the lowest starting costs among state-related and private institutions. With affordable tuition, flexible payment options, and generous scholarships, we’re proud to be one of the best-value universities in Pennsylvania.

Explore the tables below to see how our average yearly in-state and out-of-state costs for tuition, fees, housing, and food stacks up to other universities and why more students are choosing Commonwealth for both quality and affordability.

*Cost is subject to change for future terms and is based on 12-18 credits per semester (fall/spring). Final tuition and fee amounts will be determined when the Pennsylvania State Budget is passed for the 2026 - 2027 fiscal year.

Financial Need and Cost

While some financial aid funds may be awarded without regard to your financial situation, you must demonstrate financial need as determined by completing the FAFSA to qualify for assistance from need-based aid programs.

Keep in mind, need is the difference between the cost of attending Commonwealth University of PA and what you and/or your family can contribute as calculated by a financial aid formula that is approved by the U.S. Department of Education. It is not necessarily a reflection of the economic status of you or your family.
