Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Lock Haven

The Robert and Delores Lynch Multicultural Center (RDLMC) is designed to foster healthy relationships and community on campus by focusing on student success, leadership, and engagement. It is open to all students and will serve as an inclusive place where students can feel welcome, safe, and respected. In addition, a wealth of programming will be created to introduce students to different cultures, ethnicities, and religions.

Mission

The RDLMC will facilitate the inclusive shared learning experiences of students where all can engage in dialogue, challenge barriers, and build collaborative relationships.

The RDLMC will also work to create a welcoming and inclusive experience for all Commonwealth University students regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, ability status, or beliefs.  

In addition, the RDLMC will provide resources and opportunities to empower and inspire individuals to build the inclusive and equitable community they want to see at Commonwealth University - Lock Haven.

The HOPE Center (Haven Outreach Programs for Empowerment) supports, educates, and empowers Lock Haven campus community members regarding topics such as sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual violence, personal safety and health, social justice and educational equity.

The center provides programs and events designed to foster open discussion and intellectual exchange and promotes a sense of well-being and create a safe campus climate for all Lock Haven campus community members.

The CU-Lock Haven Commission on LGBTQ Affairs creates a more inclusive campus and community for students, faculty, staff and alumni through education, activism, and advocacy for all regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

The Commission membership is open to faculty, staff, students, coaches and graduates.

Key activities of the Commission include Safe Zone Ally Program, Lavender Graduation, Speakers, Entertainers and Educational Events.

The Commission on Inclusion and Disability at Lock Haven (Conf.ID.ent) is a campus-wide group comprised of faculty, students, staff, and administrative representatives.

The Conf.ID.ent team works collaboratively with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, as well as many other groups, to support our campus community in safety, well-being, and education for all students, faculty, and staff through education and awareness programing, advocacy, and provision of supports.

Opportunities for engagement are embedded throughout the academic year to build awareness, insight, and reflective dialogue around the areas of disability, equity, and inclusion. Cultivating enhanced communication, fostering intellectual curiosity, and opening doors for the celebration of abilities are all vital elements to maintaining a welcoming, inclusive campus environment.

Our mission is to strive to create a fully inclusive campus environment and climate that is respectful, inclusive, universally designed, free of discrimination, and empowering for people with disabilities to be full participants in all facets of university life.

The President’s Commission on the Status of Women is a campus-wide committee made up of faculty, students, staff and administration that helps ensure equal parity for women in all aspects of campus life.

The Commission helps ensure equal parity for women in all aspects of the Lock Haven and Clearfield campuses.

CSW advocates for women's needs and proposes solutions to address negative conditions and inequities affecting women's working and learning environments. The CSW also sponsors programs, events, and speakers that promote women's achievements and concerns and/or provide support in our community.
