Film Studies and Media Production Minor Requirements

  • 18 credits required for minor completion
  • Students should meet with their academic advisor each semester and use Degree Works to monitor their individual progress toward completion of the minor.

Minor Requirements

Upon completion of this minor, students will be able to:

  1. Outline the fundamental technical stages of film production.
  2. Analyze how narrative and cinematic techniques construct meaning and influence audience response.
  3. Compose essays or research projects on film topics and present arguments in both written and/or oral formats.
  4. Examine the role of film as a cultural artifact within diverse global societies and its function in political, social, or historical expression.
