Merit Pages
* Claim Your Merit Page and Celebrate Your Achievements *
Commonwealth University uses Merit from Merit Pages, Inc. to celebrate and publicize your achievements inside and outside of the classroom. Think of it as an online portfolio of your time at Commonwealth University.
Merit is a network that students, Commonwealth University, and other organizations use to collaboratively showcase and share student accomplishments.
Hundreds of colleges in the U.S. use Merit to promote their student’s success through personalized profile pages. During your time at CU, accomplishments are highlighted on a verified online profile – a Merit page. By claiming your Merit page profile—which is available to all College students—you’ll receive recognition when you make the dean's list, study abroad, engage in volunteer activities, and much more. Announcements will be sent to your hometown newspaper for publication. Most importantly, your Merit page goes with you after you graduate, showing off your academic successes as you seek employment.
Best part? Your Merit page is created and updated automatically–you don’t have to maintain it; we do it for you. Updates to Merit pages are shared with a network of stakeholders who are invested in your achievements and success: family and friends; employers; former teachers, coaches and schools; volunteer organizations and more. Your Merit page is also social, so sharing news with your inner circle on Facebook and Twitter is easy. In addition to keeping achievements and activities in one virtual place, Merit pages build your online profile to help you secure jobs, get internships, and collect references.
You can also update your Merit page with activities and work experience, and customize your profile by adding a photo, bio, and videos. Organizations in the Merit network, like national honor societies and service groups, can also add achievements to your profile page.

About Merit Pages
Campus departments, clubs and organizations provide the Strategic Communications and Marketing Department with information about student achievements and recognition. Based upon that data, we’ll create a personalized press release that explains your achievement, and send it to your hometown papers (U.S. residents only). Also, an award badge will be added to your Merit profile page. A month into your first semester at CU, we’ll send out a short article through Merit announcing your enrollment here. In all probability, this will mark your first Merit page achievement.
A badge appears on your Merit page as recognition for your achievement, activity or event. For instance, if you make the dean’s list for four semesters, you’ll receive a badge on your page each time you receive the honor.
We don’t send press releases to foreign newspapers, but every other Merit feature remains the same.
- For decisions makers choosing students for internships, grad school, and employment, the information on Merit helps them through the selection process. And since the site showcases student accomplishments with official college badges – authentic verification and credibility are built-into student profiles.
- Many companies research applicants online, and some have rejected applicants based upon what they’ve discovered. Merit pages provide a platform for you to shine by creating a positive online identity geared to post-grad success.
- In addition to enhancing your Merit page and connecting it to social networks, you can include your Merit page URL on your resume, and share it with potential employers or graduate admissions counselors.
- When you’re recognized for an accomplishment, you’re notified of the announcement through your Commonwealth University email address. We encourage you to share your accomplishments with family and friends through social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter/X.
Merit pages demonstrate how CU prepares you for a career, and details how you contribute to the community – making you more attractive to employers. Your profile translates what you do in the classroom, on campus, and beyond into career-building opportunities.
