Mansfield Marching Band

The Spirit & The Pride Mountaineer Marching Band

The Spirit & The Pride consists of approximately 100 brass, wind, percussion and auxiliary members. Membership is open to all interested undergraduate and graduate students and auditions are for seating purposes only. Any student who wishes to be part of the band will be accepted. All we ask that all members maintain a positive attitude and desire to be a contributor to the group and understand that we will seat you wherever your skill set is best suited for your success and the success of the group.

All band members attend a band camp prior to the start of school. Members who reside on campus are able to access their residence hall housing.

Marching Band

All members of the marching band must be registered for the course, MUEN 331-03, on the Mansfield campus. Students do have the option of registering for 1 credit or 0 (zero) credit. By default, students register for zero credit. To change this to 1 credit, follow these instructions:

  • If you would like to take an ensemble for credit, there is a tab on the registration page after you register that says "Schedule and Options." Click on this tab to modify these lesson credits. Any classes that have credits that can be changed will have a blue underlined number. This will give you a drop-down menu or a box that allows you to type a credit number as either 0 or 1. After modifying, click submit at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Any members below 18 credits are required to register for 1 credit. The 0-credit option is reserved for those registered for 18 or more credits.

If you have trouble registering for the course (time conflict with another course, for example) please contact Dr. Rinnert at nrinnert@commonwealthu.edu and request his assistance.
