BS in Sport Management 

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

1. Examine the social, psychological, and cultural foundations of sport.
2. Apply principles of sport management and leadership to current issues in the sport industry.
3. Evaluate processes of operations management and event and venue management in the sport industry.
4. Critique sport governance in sport industry associations and institutions.
5. Recognize ethics in the array of sport industry functions.
6. Apply competencies in sport marketing.
7. Examine principles of sport finance including accounting and economics.
8. Interpret legal aspects of sport across the industry.
9. Exemplify the duties, rules, and responsibilities of professionals in an external, practical experience.

Accelerated BS to MS in Sport Management

International Sport Management Track Students who complete the program will be able to:

1. Examine social, psychological, and international foundations of sport.
2. Apply principles of sport management.
3. Examine leadership in sport organizations.
4. Differentiate sport operations management, and event and venue management.
5. Assess sport governance.
6. Discriminate ethics in sport administration.
7. Apply competencies in sport marketing.
8. Examine principles of sport finance.
9. Apply accounting principles and their application to sport organizations.
10. Apply principles of economics and their application to sport organizations.
11. Interpret legal aspects of sport.
12. External experience - Students will complete an external field participation.
13. Explain and categorize all aspects of the day-to-today operations of professional setting.
14. Discriminate the duties, rules, and responsibilities of professionals in the area of external experience.
15. Apply research methods and the foundations underlying sport management including socio-cultural, philosophical and global perspectives.
16. Dissect and synthesize research to develop a full comprehension of current knowledge base and design related investigations at domestic or global levels.
17. Evaluate the influence of key social institutions (gender, race, social class) on sport management, and to integrate these factors in one's professional work.
18. Interpret philosophical principles and assess ethical issues related to sport; articulate a personal philosophy regarding social responsibility in sport.
19. Classify hierarchies in sport organizations and model how to resolve conflicts between competing parties through effective leadership and personnel management.
20. Develop sport events including planning, evaluating, marketing and public relations.
21. Create the vision and goals, including financial, of an organization and successfully convey and gain commitment to them.
22. Differentiate legal issues relevant to sport organizations including sport personnel and the ability to determine appropriate solutions to legal problems.
23. Examine the organization, governance, business activities, and cross-cultural context of modern sport on an international level.
