Mark Olivieri is a composer and pianist whose music has garnered international acclaim, with performances at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Sibelius Academy, The Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, Glinka Concert Hall in St. Petersburg, Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, Iceland and most recently Teatro Mayor in Bogotá, Colombia.
His compositional voice, shaped by his background as an improvisatory musician and jazz arranger, seamlessly blends diverse influences ranging from Thelonious Monk to Black Sabbath with traditional concert music. The New York Times has praised his work as "Glittering!" and "Pop-infused," while concert pianist Nicholas Phillips notes, "Mark Olivieri writes music that satiates performers and listeners like a breath of fresh air. His ability to combine different styles – jazz, tango, funk, minimalism, etc., with his personal voice leads to extremely engaging and effective works."
