Courses and Curriculum
Degree Requirements Degree Works
Note: Degree requirements effective for enrolled students beginning Fall 2023. All enrolled students, including matriculating students prior to Fall 2023, can review their degree program requirements and track progress to degree completion with our degree audit and advisement tool, Degree Works.
Upon graduation, students will be able to:
- Develop business acumen through completion of the B.S.B.A business core.
- Examine the procedural design and development of business applications.
- Appraise IT and analytics trends, tools, and challenges.
- Apply emerging technologies and methods to manage and exploit the value of structures and unstructured data.
- Analyze strategic innovation in the interface between websites and databases.
- Examine analytics techniques to transform data into insights.
- Demonstrate project management techniques and applications for information systems, healthcare, finance and business projects.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and methods for a comprehensive cybersecurity management plan.
Students can complete the bachelor's and master's in Information Technology through the 4+1 accelerated program. With proper planning students can earn the MS IT within 8 months of earning the B.S. Information Technology and Analytics.
M.S. IT graduate courses may be used in exchange for undergraduate courses within the Zeigler College of Business. Up to 4 M.S. IT graduate courses can be applied to undergraduate courses with the approval of the advisor, department chair, program coordinator, and dean. These courses can be existing undergraduate business courses or electives. This assessment will be through a collaborative case-by-case process.

- Program emphasizes applied learning, student participation, and project-based courses - so you’ll be ready to make an impact as soon as you set foot on the job.
- Graduates will be prepared for management roles and expand their prospects in lucrative, growing career fields such as cybersecurity, analytics and business intelligence, big data, software engineering, IT project management, cloud computing, block chain, and health informatics.
