Lamar Oglesby is a forward-thinking research administration and financial stewardship executive with a demonstrated ability to balance innovation with accountability. He is known for elevating the infrastructure of higher education institutions through practical, compliance-driven strategies that are also deeply people-focused. Lamar has over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in research financial services and a strong reputation for his execution, strategic insight, and commitment to cultivating excellence.
Currently, Lamar serves as the Executive Director of Research Financial Services at Rutgers University, where he leads efforts in post-award financial compliance, grants management, and strategic research support. In addition, he is pursuing his Doctor of Business Administration at Drexel University, where his research explores the intersections of leadership mentality, the ethical pursuit of prestige, and organizational behavior in research administration.
Lamar is a frequent contributor to NCURA (National Council of University Research Administrators) Magazine, a speaker, and a panelist on topics such as compliance, organizational culture, leadership, and the evolving role of research administration. He is also a committed mentor, having guided numerous professionals in achieving graduate-level degrees and advancing their careers.
In addition to his executive career, Lamar serves on the Board of Directors of the Bloomsburg University Alumni Association, as well as is the liaison to the University Foundation and is an engaged member of the NCURA Board. Personally, Lamar is a proud husband and father, a passionate advocate for education, and a creative writer.
