Licensure and Certification Disclosure

Online Programs That May Lead to Licensure or Certification

Commonwealth University is approved to offer programs that lead to occupations that that may require licensure or certification in Pennsylvania. A new federal regulation effective July 1, 2024, prohibits Commonwealth University from enrolling new students located outside of Pennsylvania into online programs that may lead to licensure or certification until CU has determined these programs provide all the educational requirements to meet licensure and certification requirements in states outside of Pennsylvania. The new regulation requires public disclosure of the states where CU meets and does not meet out-of-state licensure and certification. For purposes of this regulation, not making a determination is classified as not meeting requirements. Please click on the following tabs to see for which programs and for which states CU’s online programs meet or don’t meet out-of-state licensure and certification requirements (this will be updated as more information is learned about these programs).
