An incident involving Pennsylvania State Police and a suspect occurred early this morning on university property behind Retan Center. There is no ongoing danger to our campus community, and it did not involve one of our students or employees.
That said, portions of Route 6 and Wilson Avenue are closed as police document the scene. Access to Retan Center is also closed for the day.
As the investigation continues, please avoid these areas. Employees with teleworking arrangements in place are also encouraged to utilize that option today to limit campus traffic.
Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather or other emergency conditions, the operational status of Commonwealth University, including potential compressed schedules or campus closures, will be determined using our established policy. Emergency Alert Notifications
Commonwealth University has a system for communicating emergency information to the campus community. The AT&T Rave system is designed to send text, voice and email messages to compatible devices in the event of an emergency situation.
