- MUPSTI is a regional training center providing initial and continuing professional education for criminal justice practitioners, first responders, public safety professionals, and the public.
- MUPSTI also provides initial training for municipal police officers through the Act 120 Police Academy.

Commonwealth University - Mansfield is able to provide lodging at a minimal cost per night per student. Additionally, 3 meals per day per student can be provided to those lodging on campus.

The National Registry Certification examinations for Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), and Paramedic are administered at the Bloomsburg and Lock Haven test centers.
Before scheduling an exam appointment, first register with the National Registry and receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) letter; then sign up for an exam appointment.
